FAQ

Yes, there is an additional charge for campervans equipped with winter heaters. These heaters are specialized equipment requiring regular maintenance and a separate battery to operate. To help offset maintenance costs, we add a 5% surcharge to the rental price during the winter season. If the heater malfunctions during your rental, we will refund the 5% surcharge, provided the issue wasn’t caused by improper use. In such cases, you’ll need to run the engine to stay warm.

No, our campervans are equipped with a dual battery system. The heater uses the van’s fuel for heating, while a separate auxiliary battery powers the fan. This setup ensures that the starter battery remains charged, so you will not be stranded. However, the auxiliary battery will need to be recharged by driving the van to your next destination the following day.

Not everywhere. The heater requires adequate oxygen to function and may not operate properly at altitudes over 900-1000 meters. It should never be used at elevations above 1,500 meters. If you plan to stay in higher altitudes, you will need to use the engine heater instead.

Yes, the heater is thermostatically controlled and allows you to set your preferred temperature. It is effective in temperatures down to approximately -6 to -10°C (~14°F). However, heaters may occasionally fail, often due to improper usage. In such cases, you will need to rely on the engine heater.

While technically possible, it is not recommended. The confined space of the van heats up quickly, causing the heater to cycle on and off frequently, which can lead to malfunction. Additionally, this will drain the auxiliary battery, potentially triggering low-voltage alarms. We cannot guarantee the heater’s performance in warmer weather. We may remove the heater from march end/April onwards.
