Safety and
Insurance
“I drive a truck back home, so driving your campervans should be easy.” said the last customer who had an accident.
Insurance and NOC (Non-Operational Charge)
We kindly ask all customers to carefully read the following terms to avoid any issues when picking up your campervan.
Insurance Policy
- Excess Fee: In the event of an accident, regardless of its size or severity, an excess fee of 100,000 yen will be charged if the insurance is utilized. This fee is mandatory, even for minor incidents such as scratches or dents.
- Accident Protocol: If you are involved in an accident, you must not move the vehicle. Contact the police immediately to ensure that an official report is filed. Failure to do so may result in the insurance refusing to cover the damages, and Samurai Campers will not be held responsible for any resulting costs.
- What to Do in the Event of Damage (scratches, dents, marks):
- Take clear pictures of the damage and send them to our team immediately.
- Contact the police to have an official report written.
- Notify the insurance company and provide them with the details of the incident.
We strongly advise all customers to drive cautiously, as Japanese roads are often narrower than those in many other countries, and vehicles are right-hand drive.
By paying the deposit, you acknowledge and agree to our terms and conditions, including the insurance policies outlined above.
Travel Insurance Requirement
We highly recommend that all customers secure travel insurance that includes coverage for rental vehicles. This will help cover the excess fee in the event of an accident.
Non-Operational Charge (NOC)
If the campervan is returned with any damage, it may require repairs that result in cancelled bookings for future customers. In such cases, you will be responsible for a Non-Operational Charge (NOC) to cover the rental days lost and the business impact. The minimum charge is 50,000 yen, which applies to repairs that require the vehicle to be out of service for 1 to 7 days.
Please note that these charges are non-negotiable and fixed. We will not reduce the insurance excess fee or NOC for any reason, regardless of the extent of the damage.
